IMPORTANT: Reports of threats of school violence must be made immediately to law enforcement, not to CPS. Even if you are reporting both child maltreatment and a threat of school violence, you should make the report to law enforcement.
TIP: You may be required by your supervisor or administrator to complete an incident report or in some other way notify them when you suspect a child has been maltreated. That action does not fulfill your reporting responsibilities, and you must still report your suspicions directly to CPS or a law enforcement agency.
